Amjad Horani, MD

Assistant Professor of Pediatrics, Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine

Horani received his undergraduate and graduate degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He finished a residency in pediatrics at the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical Center. During his time at the Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical Center, Horani trained in the labs of Eytan Blumenthal and then Rifaat Safadi. Horani then pursued a post-doctoral fellowship in pediatric pulmonary medicine at Washington University and pursued further training in the lab of Steven Brody in airway cell biology.

Horani is currently an assistant professor in the Departments of Pediatrics and Cell Biology and Physiology at Washington University School of Medicine where he studies motile cilia assembly and the role of mutations in airway cell and cilia function.

Nicholas is a Research technician in the Horani Lab. Nicholas earned his bachelor degree from the University of Waterloo in biotechnology and bioinformatics.

Postdoc Research Associate

Twan is a post-doctoral researcher at the Horani Lab. Dr. Twan finished his PhD at Osaka University, Japan where he trained with in the Hamada lab in the field of primary and motile cilia.

Huihui Xu, PhD

Huihui Xu, PhD

Senior Research Technician

Xu earned her PhD in cell biology from Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going for walks at Forest Park, and doing handcraft.
